If you're using the Boltek ISA StormTracker card, you're going to need to install a device driver to use Lightning/2000 with Windows XP or Windows 2000. If you're using the StormTracker PCI card, you will need to install its device driver, which may be downloaded from the Boltek website. Click here to download a small zip file containing the driver and associated files. Unzip this file into the Lightning2000 folder on your computer. (You won't need this file if you're using version 3 or later of Lightning/2000 -- the files are already in the folder where Lightning/2000 was installed.) For both Windows 2000 and Windows XP, start the driver installation process with a freshly re-booted computer. Follow these directions to install the device driver for the ISA card. These instructions were developed for Windows 2000. 1. Double-click the “Add/Remove Hardware Wizard” applet in Control Panel. 2. Select “Add/Troubleshoot a Device”. 3. Select “Add a new device”. 4. Select “No, I Want to Select the Hardware from a list”. 5. Select “Other Devices” and then click Next. 6. Click “Have Disk” and select the Lightning2000 directory.
Here are the directions to install the ISA device driver under Windows XP: 1. Double-click the "Add Hardware" applet in the Control Panel. 2. Press the "Next>" button. 3. Let the wizard search for new hardware (it shouldn't find any). 4. Click the "Yes, I have already connected the hardware button" 5. Select "Add a new hardware device" (scroll to the bottom of the list box) and click the "Next>" button. 6. Select "Install the hardware that I manually select from a list (Advanced)" and click the "Next>" button. 7. Ensure that "Show All Devices" is selected and click the "Next>" button. 8. After waiting for it to think a while, click the "Have Disk..." button. 9. Click the "Browse..." button and navigate to the folder where Lightning/2000 is installed (C:\Program Files\Aninoquisi\Lightning2000 is the default folder). 10. Select the "genport" file. 11. Click the "OK" button. 12. Select the "Lightning/2000" driver and click "OK".
