Actually, the PCI StormTracker can be used on any version of Windows that is currently being sold. The same is true of the LD-250.
Only Lightning/2000 allows you to generate (and optionally email) a custom summary. The custom summary can contain virtually any information produced by Lightning/2000, and allows you to, through the use of conditional statements, determine exactly what information is produced. Also, the custom summary can now send an email based on whatever criteria you choose.
ONLY Lightning/2000 correctly differentiates and displays the various types of lighting flashes that occur. Cloud-to-ground and intercloud strokes and flashes of positive and negative polarity are detected and displayed. Other lightning detection software does not perform a scientifically valid analysis and will display data that is not reflective of reality.
ONLY Lightning/2000 identifies and displays flashes of lightning as they occur. Other lightning detection software detects and displays ill-defined "strokes" of lightning. But since many strokes comprise a visible flash, displaying the strokes is not reflective of what is going on in the real world.
We recommend at least a Pentium 500 with at least 256 MB of memory for optimum performance.
Dozens of new storm analysis and display features.
Different stroke and flash types are displayed and tallied separately (when using the Boltek StormTracker hardware).
